On a recent trip out to Montana, I took the opportunity to stop by and check out a few lodges. One of them was Madison Valley Ranch. The property itself is beautiful. The grounds are well-kept. The buildings are gorgeous log structures, everything you would expect a Montana lodge to look like. There is a stillwater with monster rainbows adjacent to their small fly shop that they have aptly named “Jurassic Pond”. The crew at the ranch was warm and welcoming and had a can-do attitude and were clearly grateful to be living and working in a place like the Madison Valley.
