Coho season in Alaska is one of the Last Frontier’s most iconic experiences, and Lava Creek Lodge offers some of the best silver fishing on the planet. There are no other freshwater species in the Northern Hemisphere that you can catch in this kind of abundance and size. It is an amazing display by Mother Nature, highlighting one of her most prolific aquatic migrations.
Lava Creek Lodge is located on the hyper-remote tundra of the Alaskan Peninsula. The home river is accessed by boat, ensuring fantastic wade fishing every day, regardless of the weather. There are also a few sister rivers that anglers are flown to every day that the weather allows, offering great diversity to the fishing program.
With only eight anglers flown into camp via a privately chartered Pilatus PC12 from Anchorage each week, this is an intimate wilderness experience, not a massive operation stuffed with anglers. It is the ideal setting for a secluded fishing adventure in a truly target-rich environment.
Lodging at Lava Creek is simple yet extremely comfortable. Double occupancy cabins each include thermostatically controlled heat, a private bathroom with flush toilet, shower and sink, and unlimited hot water. Comfortable full beds with warm linens complete your Alaska home away from home for the week.
Meals are painstakingly prepared by a professional kitchen staff and vary each week. Made from scratch with love, dishes include steaks, chops, chicken, lasagna, Alaska halibut and salmon when requested. Desserts are the specialty of the pastry chef and are to die for.
