Fishing Report – Week #18
December 15 – 22, 2024

This week, Rio Marié once again proved why it’s the ultimate destination for those seeking the pinnacle of fly fishing. Despite the challenges brought by fluctuating water levels, our group of 12 anglers—comprising Brazilians and Americans—showed incredible determination and skill, landing some truly spectacular fish.The Marié Temensis, known for its size and ferocity, was elusive at times, but perseverance paid off. The highlight of the week was the landing of three incredible fish over 20lbs, a testament to the unmatched potential of these pristine Amazon waters. With the expertise of our world-class guides, every angler left with memories of hard-fought battles and unforgettable triumphs.

Weather Conditions
The week brought mostly sunny days, with temperatures ranging between 26ºC and 28ºC (78ºF to 82ºF). Perfect weather above the surface, though the fluctuating river conditions below added an extra challenge for our anglers.

Highlights of the Week
In only her second-ever fishing trip, Valentina, accompanied by her father, stepped into the Amazon jungle ready to learn and have fun. What she didn’t expect was for her very first Peacock Bass to be a massive 87cm, 21lb giant! It was a moment of pure amazement and pride, setting the tone for an unforgettable introduction to the sport.

For most of the week, Alan had been chasing the dream of landing a trophy fish. On the final day, with time running out, he finally got his chance. After missing a first strike, he remained focused, and when the second strike came, he nailed it. The result? A stunning 20lb Peacock Bass, a hard-earned victory to cap off an incredible week.
