for Hat Creek Ranch
We take reservations for Hat Creek
Ranch anytime during the year. We are blessed with
a very long season at this ranch. The three ranch ponds can
be fished from March through November. The stream opens on
the last Saturday in April each year and is open until the
middle of November.
As a result of this long
season our clients can usually find open time at Hat Creek
Ranch. Late May, June and October seem to be favorite
times at this ranch, but we have had wonderful reports of
excellent fishing every month it is open. The 3200 foot elevation
means that it will always cool down at night, no matter what
the day time temperatures may be. Check out the section on

Making a Reservation
To make a reservation, please give
us a call at 800-669-3474 during business hours any day of
the week. We will answer whatever questions you may have
and let you know where the openings are for HatCreek Ranch,
and confirm your reservations in just minutes. If you prefer
to correspond on-line simply email The Fly Shop
and we will respond promptly.
When you call for reservations we will
send you a short confirmation letter showing the dates of
your stay, terms of the booking and an invoice showing
the cost of the trip and when deposits and final payments
are due. Deposits are normally due 6 months before the trip
takes place and final payments are due 2 months in advance. Deposits
and final payments can be made with either a credit card or
check. Once the deposit has been received you will be sent
an information packet that tells you all about the streamside
house and the
Fishery.

New Winter Program -Great Deal!
Hat Creek Ranch sits on the dry side of the mountain
range to the west of Redding. It is not unusual to have sunny pleasant
days throughout the winter months in this area. Hat Creek Ranch
is very close to Baum Lake, a very well known winter fishery. The
3 ponds and the fisherman's house will be available all winter at
a rate 20% below the summer rate.

"The fishing at the first pond was outstanding on wooly
buggers. Fished deep on sinking line for rainbows in the 18-22"
class. Strong fighters and beautifully colored (fully finned)! The
far lake was fishing well also with more dry fly action on top.
Beautiful setting for family and friends. A nymph under one indicator
or dry fly indicator was effective with copper johns. Overall, caught
lots of nice quality fish on all methods in mid-winter. Perfect
